How customers consent to text messages
Staffroom, a product of NoraNetworks, LLC, provides a virtual receptionist to small local businesses. Each business texts its own customers from its Staffroom phone number. This page documents the opt-in flows for carrier review.
1. Web form (booking and contact forms on the business's website)
The customer enters a mobile number and ticks a box that is unchecked by default. The exact wording, with the business's name filled in (Acme Plumbing is an example customer of Staffroom):
Yes, Acme Plumbing via Staffroom may text me about this request: a confirmation and a reminder the day before, up to 4 messages per request. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time. Terms · Privacy Policy. Consent is not required to make a request.

2. Verbal (phone call to the business's number)
Before any text is sent, the receptionist asks, and only proceeds on a clear yes. The answer is kept in the call transcript.
I can text you a confirmation and a reminder the day before, a couple of messages at most. Message and data rates may apply; you can reply STOP any time or HELP for help. Is that okay, yes or no?
3. Customer-initiated text
When a customer texts the business's number first, the first reply includes the disclosure and records the opt-in:
Acme Plumbing here via Staffroom. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.
Keywords
